£38,568 pa starting salary including allowance (London allowance is additional) + benefits package + Company Vehicle with fuel from home to work. Due to the nature of our work Mechanical and Electrical Fitters are required to live a 30 - 45 minutes from site location. We’re family friendly supporting a work/life balance with day work Monday to Friday.
Mechanical and Electrical fitters take on the responsibility of a wide range of duties on Substation plant and equipment. This work is predominately outdoors and includes installation of new equipment, refurbishment and maintenance of existing equipment, fault investigation and repair as well as routine condition monitoring in line with commercial targets. You’ll benefit from our industry-leading training at our facilities based in Eakring, Nottinghamshire and other substation sites, a training programme will be provided which will may require occasional stays away from home, with generous mobility and overnight allowances.
You’ll join a team of fitters and get to work on complex 275kV or 400kV circuit breakers, transformers, high speed on load tap changers and cable systems, plus all kinds of ancillary equipment such as DC battery systems, air compressors, diesels generators. Throughout the year there are some requirements for weekend work which overtime will be paid. We offer on-the-job and formal training opportunities for development.
