Since the establishment of the Group Data Office in February 2023, there has been a strong focus on developing a skills framework, job architecture, and learning and development offerings to enhance the data profession at National Grid. This initiative aims to empower employees and address the challenges of the energy transition by providing accessible learning resources and career information, ultimately improving diversity, retention, and engagement within data roles.
The role involves developing data capability across IT&D and business functions, engaging stakeholders to create a comprehensive skills framework and learning content. It will align with broader IT&D initiatives and lead the adoption of the framework to enhance recruitment, retention, and development of data professionals. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as the Data Capability Director will need to inspire and collaborate across various levels and functions within National Grid, drawing on experience in building data capabilities in similar organizations.
To manage large-scale projects from initiation to completion, delivering business change and benefits to a specific business function utilising a range of assigned resources and achieve program targets within budget, as well as the coordination of services, program offerings, and key performance indicators.
