As the Project Development Engineer you’ll join our Overhead Lines (OHL) Team. Developing critical infrastructure projects on our overhead line and cable systems with values up to £120m. Projects involve pre-construction optioneering & development for OHL & Cables upgrades, replacement and full refurbishment. We also manage large contracts for tower painting and vegetation management, specialist projects and the Cellular portfolio. 


Key Accountabilities
•    At various levels you’ll lead investment teams during project development and throughout the pre-construction phases to develop the best fit, least cost, optimal technical, efficient, and safe solution in line with business needs and relevant regulations and safety considerations. 
•    Work with stakeholder to establish accurate cost estimation, programme & project risk mitigation. 
•    Support the tendering process of projects, to provide expertise and lead in the production of competent NEC Site and Works Information, and other procurement documentation where relevant leading to contract award. 
•    Enact the role of Client's Delegated Representative and where appropriate, Principal Designer under CDM Regulations.
•    Monitor and control investments throughout the project lifecycle and provide competent, accurate and timely financial forecasting information to support regulatory reporting, and business and capital planning. 


What are the requirements?
A great opportunity for a self-motivated and organised individual with excellent engineering, project and/or contract management skills. You’ll have a understanding of project development processes and governance, commercial acumen, attention to detail and tenacity to ensure agreed services are delivered through working collaboratively with peers and stakeholders across the business.
•    Degree or equivalent in engineering discipline, or relevant experience
•    Demonstrable experience of leading cross functional teams and stakeholder management.
•    CDM, Health & Safety and Environmental legislation proficiency
Desirable
•    Overhead Lines (OHL) background
•    NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent desirable - Desirable
•    Membership of IET / IAM leading to Chartered Status – Desirable

Pay and Benefits

•    Salary between £49,400 – £71,179 pa dependent on capability and experience + excellent benefits package
•    £4,500 pa Market Supplement 
•    26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days 
•    The option to buy additional or sell holiday days.
