We are looking for a Business Analyst (BA) in the Open Banking Team within Cloud, Digital and Integration (CD&I) cummunity, part of our Chief Operating Office.
The Open Banking programme at Nationwide is responsible for delivering the regulatory requirements around access to Nationwide banking data for third parties. Open banking is a banking practice that provides third-party financial service providers open access to consumer banking, transaction, and other financial data from banks and building societies through the use of application programming interfaces (APIs) . Open banking allows the networking of accounts and data across institutions for use by consumers, financial institutions, and third-party service providers.
The role will be responsible for designing and delivering value add business solutions for Open Banking programme. We're looking for candidates who are proactive, highly motivated, self-managing and can navigate ambiguity. Working alongside other change colleagues, the successful candidates will be involved in:

Reporting to a Senior Business Analyst, you will have an understanding of a BA toolkit, likely to include basic knowledge of different project methodologies, which you can use to support us in driving excellent outcomes for our customers.
You'll be a self-starter and keen to drive your analysis career, through on the job learning and delivery of core BA artefacts such as Requirement Catalogues/User Stories. Naturally, we'll provide you with the coaching you need to be successful.
Your natural inquisitiveness will see you getting the right outcome for both our customers and our organisation, and your attention to detail will enable you spot issues before they even occur.

What you'll be doingYou will be accountable for conducting detailed As-Is and To-Be process work, this will include reviewing or documenting existing As-Is processes and developing to be process maps, Gap analysis, documentation, and user guides to meet the needs of our customers.
You will deliver explicit, quantifiable, traceable and testable requirements through appropriate elicitation, documentation, validation, and management of your work. You will be managing changes in requirements or designs, ensuring alignment to priorities and other relevant change initiatives. You will maintain the traceability of business requirements to the solution, with the status and ownership communicated to relevant stakeholders. You will provide requirements consultancy throughout the project lifecycle to ensure traceability remains correct and current.
You will contribute to team planning and own delivery of your work. You will provide timely updates to the project team with the work you have been assigned, highlight any blockers, risks and issues. You will share lessons learnt and provide feedback as requested. You will also build relationships to ensure you can be successful in your role. Importantly, you'll ensure that work is delivered on time, to the required quality and aligning to our Value Delivery Framework standards.
About you - You'll be able to demonstrate your ability to analyse complex issues and identify root causes.
- You will be able to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to elicit requirements & acceptance criteria to ensure the business objectives and product vision is being delivered.
- You will have experience of how to gather requirements and manage as appropriate.
- You'll know how to produce high quality process flows, user stories and other associated documentation.
- Experience of, and the confidence to manage workshops and meetings with business and technology colleagues.
- You will have experience of planning & managing your own work and providing updates to stakeholders & team members.
- You will either have experience of, or exceptionally keen to learn, about Digital Payments, payments regulations, payments operations and payments systems.
