The Team: We are currently looking for an Agricultural Data Analyst to join S&P Global Commodity Insights’ dynamic Food and Agricultural Commodities team to support the development of our analysis of Global Agricultural Costs and Margins. The F&AC team produces world class analysis, forecasts and data across comprehensive global commodity markets.
The role: The Agricultural data analyst (Costs and Margins) will join the team that produces Food and Agricultural Commodities’ analysis of global costs and margins. They will be monitoring market conditions and provide analysis of supply, demand, and price expectations to a wide field of clients across the agriculture supply chain.to produce and publish quality analysis and assist senior staff in their own analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the developing and maintaining models to forecast costs and margins across global agriculture, including indepth data analysis of inputs across labour rates, machinery, chemicals, fertilizers, seeds and others.
- Managing large-scale data collection to ensure efficiency, accuracy and relevance
- Development of alternative scenarios using the model, for corporate and financial sector customers.
- The position also involves working cooperatively with other areas of the Agribusiness Intelligence business, contributing expertise to consulting projects and other activities as needed.
- They will take part in interaction with global customers across a range of personas, including crop science companies, fertilizer producers, agricultural producers etc.
Your Qualifications and skills
- A BS Economics or Agricultural Economics - an advanced degree is beneficial, with prior experience in monitoring and forecasting agriculture commodities.
- A high degree of analytic ability with an ability to communicate the results in reports.
- Knowledge of Eviews, R or other econometric/statistic software is a plus.
- Experience conducting economic or commodity market research.
- 1-2 years of experience is beneficial.
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to develop trust and respect from both colleagues as well as clients.
- Superior written and oral communications.
- Outstanding written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI skills.

- You will have high energy, are willing and able to deal with client requests as they arise, and to travel as the job requires.
