National Grid is hiring an Engineer, Gas Planning and Design Engineering in Brightwaters.

Job Purpose
To provide support and assistance for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives of the enterprise-wide gas distribution and transmission.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop designs for both new assets and modifications to the gas transportation system in accordance with legislation, industry standards, company policies and procedures.
- Develop engineering proposals for pipeline diversions and new connections onto the gas transmission system.
- Provide technical advice and support within own discipline to other parts of the business.
- Deliver and contribute to the challenge and review process for all new engineering projects.
- Develop and gain approval of project scope, cost estimate and schedule.
- Prepare project documentation, including corporate sanctioning paper where required.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work under pressure, remaining calm and focused on the task at hand.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- 3 years+ of engineering, design and project management experience
- Understanding of design and construction standards, engineering drawings, and underground construction methods and procedures
- Knowledge of OSHA, PHMSA, NYS, MA or RI regulations
Salary - $106,000 - $125,000 a year
