National Grid is hiring a Maintenance Foreman. The role will be located in our Hicksville, NY
office.
Job Purpose
To be responsible for the supervision and organization of assigned power station operations and maintenance personnel in order to effectively and efficiently accomplish job tasks in line with departmental and National Grid requirements.
Key Accountabilities
• Identify and prioritize unit and equipment deficiencies for corrective action through the Work Management System.
• Oversee the operational workload of team; ensuring allocated staff are fully utilized in order to deliver against agreed program of work.
• Ensure supervised team comply with safety standards, policies and processes in order to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.
• Build good working relationships with internal and external customers and manage the day to day relationship with them in order to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate solutions, in line with National Grid policies and processes.
• Maintain compliance with relevant regulations by providing up to date information on National Grid policies, processes and programs to regulatory bodies.
• Promote and implement procedural best practice within the team in order to ensure all working practices are compliant with National Grid policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and challenge business processes where appropriate in order to ensure National Grid is compliant with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years experience in the operation and maintenance of power generation equipment
• Working knowledge of control, electrical, and/or mechanical equipment
• In depth knowledge of safe work rules and practices at Power Stations.
• Detailed Knowledge of the Power Plant Hold-off System and System Clearance Procedures.
• Able to supervise others
• Able to work overtime, rotating shifts, and nights both incidental and prolonged
Salary
$122,000 - $143,000 a year
