About the job
A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
The Global Submarine Networks (GSN) team designs, builds and operates the subsea backbone network used by Google to provide our products and services. This international team collaborates with internal stakeholders and an array of suppliers to create construction agreements, oversee the delivery of each cable system, then operate and maintain that infrastructure for high reliability and security.
In this role, you will build and manage programs identifying critical-path risks and standardized reporting across organizations. You will design automated methods and documentation to feed real-time global infrastructure health dashboards, collaborate with data analytics to deploy Gemini-powered automation and scripting for program insights. You will drive standardized metrics and tracking to ensure efficient executive reporting and proactive risk identification, and lead partnerships with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient delivery and critical path identifications.
Responsibilities
- Convert ambiguous initiatives into structured roadmaps with clear milestones.
- Partner with engineers to navigate complex telecommunications and subsea networking challenges.
- Leverage Gemini to automate status synthesis, risk modeling, and technical documentation, shifting from manual tracking to predictive management. Architect standardized, AI-enhanced tooling and frameworks to streamline the project lifecycle for global partners.
- Resolve high-stakes cross-functional escalations and unblock critical-path obstacles.
- Ensure end to end program standardization that contributes to on time delivery of network assets.
