You’ll have 4 distinct and equally weighted areas of responsibility:
PROCUREMENT AND TENDERING
• Act as the Contracts and Commercial Team representative on tender and procurement events.
• Providing guidance on commercial and contract management considerations and advising on contract options and budget estimates, including risk and contingency allowances.
• With a Value for Money mindset, challenge tender return evaluations, support tender negotiations, and Contract Award.
CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
• Support and provide advice on implementing administrative procedures necessary to run a construction contract, including, but not limited to, contract administration, cost risk analysis, dispute procedures, reporting procedures, etc.
• Carrying out the contractual mechanisms and procedures relevant to your project, such as risk management, KPI, contractual communications, change procedures, valuations, loss and expense and final accounts.
• Attending related meetings and site visits to support the Project Team in commercial and contractual matters.
• Carry out due diligence, assurance & audit of the assigned projects, including ensuring consistent processes are followed, safe storage of data, keeping on top of contractual communication’s time frame, ensuring contractual risks are tracked, and the relevant issues are escalated through the reporting line.
• Ensure consistent quality and accurate output from the tasks.
• Supporting any escalation procedures and dispute avoidance, and resolution processes.
COST CONTROL AND REPORTING
• Prepare, monitor, maintain, report and advise on project cashflows.
• Evaluate and advise on the financial implications and appropriate management actions.
• Lead the preparation and give advice on budget estimates, including risk and contingency allowance, at all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Ensure the commercial processes (incl. detailed cost reports) and internal governance requirements (including change requests) are adhered to at all stages of the project lifecycle.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
· Working with both internal & external stakeholders, including providing support on regulatory requirements.
· Build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders and functions, including Project Managers, Planners, Accountants, Operational colleagues, Contractors, Procurement, Regulation, Legal, Specialists and any other stakeholders required by the project as needed.
