As a Cloud Engineer, you will be building, evolving, and operating the infrastructure automation platform used to power our Cloud Services. You will be to ensure that our production environment is operating and performing optimized and efficiently; and that software is released and deployed in an efficient and streamlined manner, from development all the way to production.
This is a hands-on operational role with a balanced amount of tool and infrastructure development, including advanced scripting and automation. You will be supporting our internal infrastructure, as well as providing managed services support, product development, and support the entire stack for a cloud-based service offering.
Success in this role requires very strong system administration skills, an aptitude for distributed systems and attention to minute details. You need to have well exemplary network, systems and code-level troubleshooting abilities. You are expected analyze complex system behaviors or performance problems and be able to trace issues across multiple systems.
Responsibilities:
- Deep knowledge of AWS technologies such as EC2, ELB, S3, VPC, EBS, RDS, AMIs, IAM, FSX, Active Directory, DNS, CloudWatch, Lambda, Performance Insights etc.
- Good to have experience with configuration and deployment management in a scripting language like Ansible. In this context knowledge of AWS Cloud formation/Azure Devops/Terraform helpful to run multi-server application stacks.
- 5-8 years of experience in a highly complex technical AWS operations environment
- 5-8 years of experience as Windows 2016/2019 systems administrator required.
- MS SQL Server – Standard and Enterprise deployment setup and Understanding of HA setups.
- MS Remote Desktop Services – Remote Desktop Gateway and broker.
- 5 or more years of PowerShell scripting experience required.
- Version control using Git.
- Maintains up-to-date awareness of the current and future directions of the business industry and associated technologies.
- Networking administration experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- Candidates should be university degree level educated or equivalent and have a proven track record of software implementation experience gained ideally from a sell-side environment.
- 8+ years of practical experience in AWS Cloud Administration preferably AWS certified Solutions Architect or Equivalent
- Strong business acumen is essential.
- Ability to prioritize activities by managing a constantly evolving plan measured against client requirements.
- A natural, consultative style is essential to build client relationships and meet the evolving demands of a wide and diverse client base.
- Detail orientated with an attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills required to present various levels from COO to developer, discussing hosted offering and delivering solutions across a wide array of requirements.
- Team Player and able to interact with product, operations and technical teams in a professional manner.
