About the job
Inception runs like a startup, balancing high energy idea generation with pragmatic, clear and regularly refined operations. This collaborative, multidisciplinary group is situated primarily in London and Mountain View with collaborators across the globe. It has a sizable portfolio of early stage, design focused projects, building on working processes developed internally on projects.
In this role, you will apply your technical and machine learning experience to applied research projects, engineering initiatives, and developing and implementing new user experiences. Our projects span machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) fields, including large language models, diffusion models, and reinforcement learning.
Artificial intelligence will be one humanity’s most transformative inventions. At Google DeepMind, we are a pioneering AI lab with exceptional interdisciplinary teams focused on advancing AI development to solve complex global challenges and accelerate high-quality product innovation for billions of users. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, ensuring safety and ethics are always our highest priority.
We are pushing the boundaries across multiple domains. Our global teams offer diverse learning opportunities and varied career pathways for those driven to achieve exceptional results through collective effort.
Responsibilities
- Work in a close-knit, cross-functional team. Conduct significant experimentation and collaboration with our partner teams.
- Bridge the gap between AI technologies and the user experience. Communicate ideas by designing, building, and sharing rapid prototypes.
- Understand our partner’s objectives, constraints, and systems. Gather and analyze data. Build, evaluate, and debug Machine Learning (ML) models and algorithms. Integrate our pipelines and models into production serving systems.
- Solve key applied research issues, via designing and running experiments, sharing analyses and proposing next steps.
- Bring engineering expertise into early stage projects. Share your skills and knowledge with other engineers and researchers. Conduct performance engineering, bench-marking, and optimization.
