Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 7 years of experience with Android application development.
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience with modern Android development: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Material Design.
- Familiarity with debugging performance-related issues.

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical authority on App Excellence for the Android Google Search App. Your mandate is to elevate the overall feel of the app, making it a best of class app on Android.
You will look beyond individual screens to solve systemic issues in rendering architecture, design systems, and app-wide performance.
