Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
3 years of experience with conversational AI or building/leveraging AI solutions and ML APIs (e.g., Large Language Models (LLMs), frameworks).
- Experience building or leveraging Artificial Intelligence solutions or ML APIs and developing applications utilizing AI methods or frameworks.
- Experience with development methodologies, modernizing legacy applications, and application performance profiling and tuning.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in coding using Java (e.g., Gradle/Maven, Spring Boot, Tomcat, Spring Data/JPA/Hibernate, JUnit, etc.), C# (e.g., NuGet, Web API, Entity, etc.), JavaScript/TypeScript (e.g., NPM, Node.js, Express, React.js, Vue.js, Prisma, etc.), or Python (e.g., pip, uv, Flask, FastAPI, Django, Pydantic, SQLalchemy, etc.).
- Experience building applications with integrated AI and agentic capabilities (e.g., Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LLMs, AI agents, and ML APIs) to automate complex workflows.
- Experience with document and image AI.
- Experience with platforms and building conversational applications.

As a Customer Engineer, you will be crucial in understanding customer requirements and shaping how businesses connect through technology with customers, employees, and partners. You will be a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers to design, deploy, and optimize their Google Cloud environments. Your focus will be on leveraging AI agents and generative AI as a catalyst for cloud migration, while working closely with Go-to-Market, Product and engineering teams to accelerate customer adoption of AI-first solutions.

Responsibilities
- Help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, explain technical features, help customers design architectures, and problem-solve potential roadblocks.
- Guide customers through assessments of application environments, prioritising the augmentation of business processes with AI agents and generative AI as a catalyst for cloud migration.
- Apply product management advisory and application decomposition strategies to break down monoliths into multi-service agentic systems.
- Recommend integration strategies, solution architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete, AI-first solution on Google Cloud.
- Share in-depth AI expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including advocacy, bid responses, proof-of-concept work, and partnering with Google Cloud product management to prioritize features that accelerate customer adoption.
