Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in a FSC environment or Protective Security role, within a defence or intelligence setting.
- Experience in a security role working within the government or industry that is responsible for working with government assets.
- Experience with UK government security frameworks, including GovS 007, JSPs, and IPSA.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Previous or currently active UK Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working on UK public sector security programs.
- Experience translating regulatory requirements into operational and technical control objectives.
- Knowledge of cloud security and incident response.
- Ability to drive complex programs across Business and Engineering teams with high collaboration and leadership.
- Ability to be comfortable working with high levels of discretion and integrity due to access to sensitive and personal information.
About the job
In this role, you will be a key player in a fast-growing team focused on delivering a protective security programme for Google Cloud Public Sector. You will work cross-functionally to coordinate, manage, and facilitate protective security programs across Google Cloud as well as finding innovative solutions to develop efficient compliance processes. You will also work with customers on a range of government projects, providing knowledge and expertise on government security and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for maintaining Industry Personnel Security Assurance (IPSA) and Facilities Security Clearance (FSC) status by ensuring compliance, including physical security, personnel security, insider threat, security awareness training, visit coordination, audit support, response to security aspects letters, classified data control, and procedures.
- Manage security incidents including containment, reporting, actions, and lessons learned, and maintain the register of security incidents including reporting to the appropriate authorities.
- Manage, coordinate, and facilitate security and compliance programs to ensure that Google Cloud meets regulatory and contractual requirements and compliance risks are managed.
- Conduct requirement analysis, remediation planning, risk management, solution validation, and implementation tracking.
- Collaborate with Googlers across many disciplines from sales, legal, product, engineering, and communicate compliance analysis and decisions to stakeholders and executives in verbal and written media.
