Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or management consulting.
- 5 years of experience working in higher education or with higher education institutions in a partnerships or sales role.
- Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
- Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
- Experience navigating and closing company-wide deals.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or other advanced degree.
- Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
- Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
- Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to communicate in English and Spanish, French, or German fluently to support strategic relationship management and complex negotiations with university leadership in the EMEA region.

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you will lead our Higher Education partnerships for the EMEA region. This pivotal role within our ARC Partnerships (AI Data, Labs, Tech & Society, Research & Core) team is focused on establishing Gemini as the premier AI platform for universities.
In this role, you will build and execute a strategy to drive adoption of Gemini for teaching, learning, and research. You will forge partnerships with 3-5 "lighthouse" universities, acting as a senior converter and unifying the "One Google" strategy across Gemini, Google Cloud, and other product areas. You will negotiate complex agreements, shape the product roadmap with partner feedback, and develop a rich ecosystem of EdTech partners.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.
Responsibilities
- Establish deep, strategic partnerships with 3- 5 lighthouse academic institutions per region, with the primary objective of driving meaningful adoption of Gemini for teaching, learning, and research.
- Unify partnership and sales strategies across Gemini for Education, Google Cloud, and other product areas to show up as One Google with a compelling narrative to our university partners.
- Negotiate and close agreements for AI Studio, Gemma, and other AI products and services with higher ed partners, acting as a senior leader and converter for Gemini in the global academic community, building strong relationships with university leadership.
- Serve as a critical voice, providing partner feedback to shape the product roadmap and create the playbook for scaling Gemini adoption.
- Develop and nurture a rich ecosystem of EdTech partners, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), research organizations, and content providers.
