About the job
Few roles have the power to shape an industry — but this is one of them. As Director of Retail at Google UKI, you’ll be at the helm of a sector that
represents 5.7% of the UK’s GDP and employs over 3 million people. Retail isn’t just part of the economy, it’s the pulse of it. And leading this
portfolio at Google means helping the UK’s most influential brands and
retailers grow, compete and transform in the AI era.
This is a pivotal leadership hire within Google’s UK Large Customer Sales
division. In this role, you will lead Google’s partnerships with the UK’s
largest, most sophisticated Retail brands — the kind of businesses that
shape culture, set the pace for innovation, and carry global influence.
Many operate across markets and continents, and this role will require
someone who can navigate both the detail and the bigger picture.
We're at a defining moment. Artificial intelligence is transforming how
people search, shop and connect with brands — and Google is at the heart of that shift. Search is getting smarter. YouTube is becoming a virtual shopfront. And the lines between content, commerce, creators and community are blurring. As the Director, you will help clients make sense of it all — and use it to grow.
Our Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build businesses and brands. We enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. We're uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. We advise clients on Google's broad range of products across search, video and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of senior managers, setting the direction and raising the bar, and build and mentor senior leadership talent — developing a team that thrives in complexity and grows together.
- Own relationships with the UK’s largest retail advertisers — including global accounts with C-suite engagement.
- Work closely with Cloud, Commerce, Measurement, and Product teams to bring integrated solutions to life and advocate for AI-powered solutions across the Google ecosystem, including Search and YouTube.
- Lead forecasting, business reviews, and commercial rhythm — driving performance and visibility across the organization, and turn strategy into real-world results — with clear operating plans and accountability.
- Guide clients through transformation — helping them rewire for growth in the AI era, with courage and clarity.
