There is no fixed rule, but to do the job effectively, lead the team and attend important meetings in person, it is anticipated that you will be in the office approximately 2 days per week. There will also be a need to visit other locations occasionally, as required.
Expected Salary- £68,500.00 - £105,000

We are looking for a leader that can take on the role of continuing to effectively run and maintain our John Lewis shared technical estate; ensuring we maintain our compliance obligations, reduce operating risk and security threats and drive operational stability, whilst transforming the team to a new DevOps structure and Agile ways of working.
We’re transforming to ensure we’re set up to successfully deliver our portfolio plans across the Partnership shared capability areas. In this role you will lead and define the delivery of this technology and transformation plan.
What’s the role about?
As a Delivery & Operations Manager in shared functions, you will be instrumental in guiding your team to take products from their conception through to implementation, utilising your passion for delivery and an excellent understanding of how to define and deliver solutions interactively and collaboratively, in order to achieve business outcomes and value.
You will establish and drive improvements to the technology in use through the creation and prioritisation of a dynamic backlog optimising delivery though continuous delivery enablement; coaching at all levels to build high performing teams, create transparency and flow of value to customers, aligned to technology outcomes sought, resulting in iterative and incremental risk reduction and mitigation.
Managing significant budgets, you will allocate budget to individual demands to create a business plan year on year, run a live dynamic backlog with the foresight to identify opportunities in cash and allocate further down the backlog to deliver maximum value.
Taking into account costs, benefits, risks, capacity constraints and timescales, to deliver Partnership strategic outcomes with the maximum possible value.
This will require significant skill in dependency management, an understanding of the technical landscape and you will need to focus on developing and maintaining multiple stakeholder relationships, including 3rd parties and contracts, whilst demonstrating effective influencing skills.
You will lead and inspire your technical teams of both Partners and contractors in the ongoing stability and end-to-end delivery of technology for the shared capability areas, significantly technology.
This role will be accountable for working hand in hand with the Product teams that define our direction, to ensure that we deliver the technology and capabilities needed to deliver Partnership technology outcomes.
What will you be doing?
You will:
Manage prioritisation of the teams activities to achieve the most appropriate balance of Operability (e.g.Availability, Resilience, Scalability, Performance, Security), Delivery Velocity, and Cost, and ensure delivery against the Partnership outcomes
Invest in your personal and professional development, leveraging insight and internal and external networks to keep abreast of technological advancements (e.g.‘Cloud’), and improvements in ways of working (e.g.‘DevOps’, Agile) and feed these into strategic thinking, as well as externally promoting the Partnership as a forward thinking great place to work.

Certifications - CSM / Lean / ITIL
Experience in Programme or Portfolio management with a record of successes.
