The
Digital business is a significant part of the wider Nationwide Service Offering. We have 6M active users of our Banking App and Internet Bank capabilities providing members with the ability to service their daily banking needs. We have embarked on a journey to completely reimagine and re develop the Banking App to better meet the current and future needs of our members, including using innovative technologies for authentication & service integration, as well as leveraging cloud capabilities.
As a
Senior Business Analyst you will be responsible for designing and delivering business solutions which add significant value, achieve business success and uplift our customer's Banking experience. We're looking for a candidate who is proactive, highly motivated, self-managing and can navigate ambiguity.
You will be supporting a Product Owner in defining a prioritised business value driven roadmap of change. You will be accountable for the scoping, shaping and analysis approach, defining outcomes and priorities, translating business needs into relevant deliverables and providing insightful analysis and design expertise to ensure successful completion of OKRs.
The role will be within our Digital Business Analysis Team within Cloud, Digital and Integration (CD&I) Community, part of our Chief Operating Office.

based at either our Swindon, Nationwide House office or our London, Threadneedle Street office. There will be the need for ad/hoc visits to both sites. What you'll be doingYou will be working within one of our Digital Value Stream Teams supporting the Product Owner with shaping & defining the scope and measurable outcomes for prioritised initiatives. Working in partnership with other change roles you will ensure the full breadth of change is understood, the design meets the need, dependencies are identified and required insight & metrics incorporated.
With relevant experience under your belt, you'll be using your business analysis or solution design knowledge to identify solutions that achieve the best business outcome, influencing technology & business resolutions with confidence and innovation whilst accommodating interlocks and dependencies.
You will be working closely with other Business Analysts, building, managing, and leading in relationships. You will use your strong communication skills to engage with diverse change team participants and establish influencing relationships with key stakeholders and change leaders.
You'll be using your own initiative in this role and required to work with a pro-active mindset and an aim to identify, escalate and resolve issues/risks. As a Business Analyst, you'll strive for continuous development in your work, identifying areas for improvement throughout the lifecycle of an initiative.
As one of our anchor team business analysts you will be supporting our delivery team business analysts by clarifying requirements through the definition of epics and stories, attending stand up meetings and making priority calls on behalf of the Product Owner.
About youWe ask that you have:
- A fundamental understanding of technologies utilised to service our customers digital banking needs and align with our business services/processes.
- Considerable experience of working within a business analysis or solution design role, preferably within financial services
- A conceptual, lateral thinker with excellent insight in defining business outcomes and requirements within a Digital delivery environment with the ability to analyse and problem-solve to determine solutions.
- Knowledge in business solution/analysis techniques, tools, and methods with a strong understanding of their purpose, fit and relevance when initiating developments.
- A strong understanding of the role of demonstrable compliance and governance within a rapid delivery environment
- An understanding of Agile delivery techniques and working with diverse multi-disciplined teams, consisting of internal and external resources i.e. third party suppliers and contractors.
- The ability to confidently communicate; with the ability to influence stakeholders, task manage an analyst team and communicate progress at various levels.
