Julie Sweet, Accenture CEO As a team:- Work collaboratively within a high-performing estimating team supporting the delivery of major infrastructure, energy, commercial, and mission-critical projects.
- Partner with clients, project managers, engineers, and commercial specialists to understand scope, programme requirements, and cost drivers.
- Share market intelligence, benchmark data, and estimating knowledge to strengthen consistency and accuracy across projects.
- Support junior estimators through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and review of estimating outputs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of best-practice estimating processes.
As an Estimator, you will:- Prepare detailed cost estimates based on the level of design information available.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify cost drivers, assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
- Conduct quantity take-offs, maintain pricing models, and validate rates using supplier, subcontractor, contractor, and industry data.
- Provide estimate updates, change reports, and clear explanations of cost movements to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Review contract documentation and assess the cost and budget implications of scope changes.
QualificationWe are looking for experience in the following skills:- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- At least 8-10 years' experience in estimating, cost planning, or pre-contract commercial roles.
- Strong knowledge of estimating principles, methodologies, pricing models, and industry best practices.
- Experience delivering estimates for large-scale infrastructure, energy, commercial, or mission-critical projects.
- Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder-management, and client-facing skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical documentation.
Set yourself apart:- Professional membership or accreditation such as MRICS, AACE, ACostE, or equivalent.
- Experience using estimating software such as CostX, Candy, Causeway, or a similar platform.
- Knowledge of BIM-enabled estimating and digital cost management solutions.
- Experience applying data-driven estimating approaches and benchmark databases.
