Minimum qualifications:
- PhD in Political Science, Sociology, Philosophy, Economics, Law, Psychology, Science, Technology, and Society (STS), HCI, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence research.
- 2 years of experience conducting research in one or more of the following areas: law, political institutions, economics, sociology, or AI and human relationships.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in applying experimental ideas.
- Experience developing new research methodologies.
- Experience with cross-functional or interdisciplinary collaboration, including across timezones.
- Experience communicating complex research findings to diverse audiences.
- Track record of publication on AI-related topics.
- Interest in AI safety, ensuring AI development benefits humanity, and translating research into real-world impact.

Responsibilities
- Lead future-oriented research projects exploring the influence of AGI on domains such as political institutions, sociology, economics, law and human relationships.
- Develop and conduct in-depth studies to analyze AGI's potential societal impacts across key impact areas.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams, including external partners, to drive research forward.
- Build and refine measurement infrastructure and evaluation frameworks for a systematic evaluation of AGI's societal effects, using AI-enabled advances in social science methodology.
- Dive deep into specific areas to improve our understanding of the impact of AGI, and create the map of potential outcomes.
