The Role: Upstream Asset Valuation Analyst (Europe)
The Team: Upstream Solutions from S&P Global Commodity Insights comprise some of the most extensive and complete information, analytics, insight, and advisory services in the world. We deliver oil and gas databases and software, energy transition insight, energy supply and demand forecasts, and comprehensive data on transactions at the global and regional market levels.
The Impact: The Upstream Asset Valuation Analyst is an important member of the Europe Vantage Asset Valuation team providing expert fiscal, economic and financial analysis of upstream assets for a wide-ranging customer base.
What’s in it for you: While working as a team of analysts and researchers you will reinforce your position as a subject matter expert on upstream E&P activity in Europe with a focus on upstream asset valuation. You will build your knowledge around the wider upstream industry as it, and S&P Global, adapts and evolves with the energy transition.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to generate asset-level production, cost and economic analysis focused on oil and gas assets in Europe for the Vantage platform
- Support the regional lead with customer queries of various complexity by providing subject matter expertise, timely insight and good judgement
- Contribute to the research, development, validation and population of a world leading E&P database for onshore and offshore assets in Europe
- Ensure data consistency between our Edin, GEPs and Vantage products
- Execute research to help build and maintain S&P Global’s comprehensive asset valuation database for onshore and offshore assets in Europe
- Continuously develop expertise in a particular/designated practice or focus area and expand knowledge into related fields
- Stay abreast of current/hot topics and contribute to written/published products to broaden and build upon subject matter knowledge
- The role will require presenting both internally and externally
What We’re Looking For:
- Geoscience or Earth Science Degree or equivalent, with a particular focus on Petroleum Geology
- One or more years’ experience in an upstream geology/geoscience related position within a petroleum operating or service company is desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of upstream asset valuation
- Knowledge of exploration and development process is essential
- Highly numerical and analytical with a strong proficiency in excel and manipulating large datasets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- You will need excellent research and analytical skills with attention to detail and be a confident communicator with the team and clients alike
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic and the ability to work alone or as part of a team
