National Grid is hiring a Revenue Analyst for our Customer Connections Team based in our Warwick Head Office working on a hybrid basis.

About the role

The Revenue Analyst plays a vital role by ensuring that customers are charged correctly at every stage of their journey by owning and applying the complex charging calculations and the associated billing.

You will be responsible for meeting customer expectations at all stages within the charging life-cycle (from application to outturn; and annual reviews); ensuring that adequate securities are in place to manage Electricity Transmission’s (ET) exposures.

What you'll do

Act as the expert for the complex calculations to set and communicate charges to accurately recover charges worth £2.0 billion per annum and ownership of the associated systems and processes that support this.
Determine terms to be included in customer agreements (e.g. securities and charges).
Lead across Electricity Transmission to ensure all charges and indemnities for electricity connections, modifications, diversions, and applications cover our costs; and are raised in accordance with the contracted terms and charging policy.
Manage and oversee internal & external stakeholders, taking ownership for resolving charging-related disputes including making decisions in the best interest of ET and consumers.
Pro-actively manage charging queries; liaising with the NESO and ET to enable them to effectively manage the expectations of our customers, providing timely and accurate information throughout the lifetime of a project or contract, ensuring we manage expectations and avoid disputes.
Own and undertake the annual charge setting process on behalf of ET, including the publication of our Charging Methodology statement and our refresh of Application Fee rates.
Produce periodic and ad-hoc management information.
Developing insightful and timely internal reporting.
Pro-actively engage with the code and policy teams to help identify, progress, and implement commercial code modifications as well as develop internal commercial policies.
With advice from internal experts, establish robust, effective, and efficient controls framework for revenue.

What you'll need

Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a numerate / engineering subject
Highly competent in numerical analysis (not necessarily financial); and resolving data uncertainties
Expert user in Microsoft Excel – including analytical and data control
Understanding of the frameworks that give force to the charging arrangements.
Experience of working in a commercially focused role and interpreting contracts to understand their implications
Extensive experience of creating sound working relationships with internal & external customers/stakeholders.
Proven track record of running parallel processes with inputs from a wide range of parties.
Experience of leading and influencing within multidiscipline virtual teams.

What you'll get

Starting salary of £46,000 - £56,000 dependant on experience
