The Team: We are a dynamic and growing team driving the development of S&P’s ‘energy asset valuation’ products. You will be developing products to help our customers manage their energy portfolios to reduce greenhouse emissions and move towards net zero. You will have the opportunity to work in close collaboration with the product owner, and technical and subject matter experts, on market leading capabilities and data. We follow agile principles including value driven prioritisation and regular incremental deliveries to production.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Product Owner and team to develop application functionality, including architecture, prototypes and proof of concepts.
Be part of the team: do pair programming, peer reviews, ask questions, challenge answers, chill, at the end of the day we stand or fall as a team.
Be an engineer: consider performance and scaling, operational costs, security and all the other things that make you stand out from other candidates.
Be realistic: Nobody likes the boring stuff but refactoring, tech debt, upgrades, etc. are part of life. Sometimes it needs doing, so we embrace it and get it done.
What We’re Looking For:
A Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Good knowledge of Scala and functional programming.
Experience working with application APIs and microservices.
Experience of AWS, containers and serverless computing.
Experience of Agile/Scrum and Azure DevOps.
Good team player, we work closely as a team for support and co-operation.
Interest and willingness to learn, we continually look at how we work, the tools we use, etc.
