Job Purpose
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Responsible for the receipt and disposition of all service requests occurring during hours of assignment, including analyzing/prioritizing service orders for immediate dispatching or later scheduling.
- Responsible for the dispatching of service orders to Service personnel according to classification via radio, telephone and/or computer
- Responsible for reading and interpreting gas maps.
- Track location of active mobile radios maintain gas leak emergency log and record of work location, work completed, work in progress of each service person in the field.
- Adhere to all procedures including timely supervisor notifications to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements .
- Maintain files for dispatching and scheduling.
- Contact customers when necessary. Responsible for screening job orders for special instructions and handling.
- Responsible for recording of information to customer files and the completion of related clerical functions. Prepare work of service personnel and ensure response time is achieved.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Responsible for performing minor repairs on printers, computers, and other office machinery.
- Assist in the training and direction of new Dispatchers and Relief Dispatchers when necessary.
- When working the overnight schedule, will be required to take customer emergency calls
Qualifications
• Post information from one record to another.
• Maintain files and logs, plot graphs, and perform simple arithmetical computations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages.
• Candidates will be required to successfully pass a pre-entry screening test.
• Two years of experience in radio dispatching of work desired
NOTE:
In addition to possessing the qualifications for this vacancy, employees selected will be expected to work overtime in accordance with departmental requirements and to participate in the Company's Emergency Restoration Program.
Employees selected for this classification will be required to participate in federally mandated drug testing programs prior to selection, randomly on a year-round basis, after an accident and for reasonable cause.
Progression to the Relief Gas Dispatcher Grade 7 will be based on four (4) years of experience as a Relief Dispatcher, successful completion to a test of demonstrate skills and a satisfactory performance evaluation for the last year

Pay Rate: $34.58 per hour
