Key Accountabilities
- Perform hoisting, rigging, and logistics duties related to the maintenance and construction of electrical substations within In-House Construction.
- Perform all duties associated with material handling, loading, unloading, and transport / delivery of materials by trucks and material handling equipment.
- All other duties properly assignable to an employee of this classification.
Qualifications
- Must be able to read and write English legibly.
- Be physically able bodied and a safe and careful worker.
- Currently hold a Class B Unrestricted CDL license and the ability to obtain a Class A Unrestricted CDL license and a Federal Crane license or certification.
- Must maintain a DOT medical card.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the 2A/1B Massachusetts Hoisting license.
- Must be able to obtain a company hydraulic license and be able to operate various equipment including crane truck, construction fork lift, knuckle boom truck, aerial lift and other equipment.
- Possess mechanical ability.
- Work under adverse weather conditions during emergencies.
- Be available for scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- May be required to handle substances considered hazardous under the U.S. Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Law or Massachusetts Right to Know Law.
- Obtain and retain any license or certificate required for this classification.
- Be able to progress to 1st class utility worker/driver as defined in the progression agreement.
- Accept assignments anywhere within service territory.
- Become familiar with company standards and work methods.
- NOTE: Final Awarding of the Job(s) is contingent upon the applicant(s) successful completion of Field Assessment test or equivalent.
- Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Companies testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
