National Grid is hiring a Senior Representative- Gas Connections in Braintree, MA

Job Purpose
The Customer Gas Connections team is the company’s face to our prospective Natural Gas customers. Our team works closely with customers, civil and mechanical engineers as well as many internal stakeholders to scope and design the distribution systems to serve these customers. The Senior Representative role is a coordinator role responsible for processing customer requested relocation contracts and creating work packages for the field crews.
To be accountable for the pre-inspection of new service requests, and customer requested relocations ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved through the completion of work and resolution to any issues. The purpose of the site visit in addition to pre-marking, is to check for any anomalies or issues that would impede the installation to be performed. The Field inspector is also the single point of contact for all customer requested gas service relocations and abandonments.
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct site visits for new residential services, identify best route and perform pre-marks.
- Field inspection and coordination work for the installation of customer services. Inspect jobsite to determine field conditions, make installation recommendations, meet customers and set expectations
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers to provide support, resolve issues, and ensure customers’ service orders are fulfilled and delivered against service level agreements.
- Perform, validate, or process Non-Utility billing for gas service relocations.
- Act as single point of contact for customers requesting gas service relocations, service abandonments, responsible for standard design and work packages
- Responsible to identify and obtain necessary easements, identify potential environmental issues. Responsible for correcting problems promptly and communicate customer expectations to monitor delivery and satisfaction
- Prepare, design, and estimate gas facilities as directed. May include analysis of load demand, required equipment, estimates, sketches, permit application, and resolution of conflicts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders such as Construction, Fitting, Project Managers, Field Inspectors, Resource Planning, Operations Engineering, PE&D, Capital Delivery, Gas Connections, Legal, ROW specialist, Environmental, City & State Construction team.
- Functional activities include processing contracts, creating new accounts, invoicing and tracking customer payments. Communication to both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to apply consultation procedures and negotiation skills during the gas growth fulfillment process
- Demonstrates a consistent approach in dealing with people and taking personal responsibility for addressing problems and concerns.
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in gas distribution customer, design, or construction role.
- Technically proficient in understanding National Grid’s gas business, policies, tariffs, design and construction practices.
Salary
$102,000 - $120,000 a year
Salary commensurate with location and experience
