About the role

Land Third Party Interface Manager

Location: Home Based, National (with office hubs in Leeds, Warwick and The Strand, London)

We're at the forefront of the biggest period of change in the electricity network since the 1960s to meet the demands of Net Zero; upgrading infrastructure across the country to connect more clean, affordable energy to the grid – moving it from where it’s generated to where it’s needed by UK homes and businesses. We need to enable new customer focussed connections and coordinate third-party works on our sites at a much larger scale – efficiently and collaboratively in this digital age.

As a Land Third Party Interface Manager, you'll develop and deliver Lands non-operational third-party policy, procedures and processes. You will work closely with the Customer Connections teams on site to develop, lead and enable a team coordinating and monitoring multiple third-party contractor activity on new substation builds and expansions across the country.

We're looking for a passionate, creative and curious leader with excellent communication skills, who is people focused, eager to work within a fast-paced environment and has site experience working under construction, design and management regulations.

In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to travelling to offices and project sites as required.

Key accountabilities

Formulate and deliver a strategy for monitoring activities of third-party works on NGET non-operational land (typically installation of underground cables), including monitoring the volume of activity onsite, performance of third-party contractors, interactions between third-party contractors and NGET work to resolve any issues.
Manage a portfolio of NGET sites where there are multiple third-party contractors working on NGET sites to mitigate interface risks, ensure compliance and ensure consistency across a national portfolio of sites.
Liaison with ET Customer Connections, ET Asset Operations and Operational SHE, engineering, consents, external affairs and lands leads to ensure compliance and consistency with wider business around all SHE related matters.
Liaison with external parties such as third-party connection customers, DNOs, local planning authorities etc as relevant for the site/project works.
Facilitate and foster a seamless generative safety culture within the Lands team.

About you

Considerable experience of working on complex construction sites, with excellent and pragmatic understanding of Construction, Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
Knowledge of utilities / electrical engineering sector.
Demonstrable stakeholder management, writing and presenting skills.
Excellent organisational skills, including excellent facilitation skills.
Effective and pro-active problem solving and time management skills, with the ability to independently track multiple projects and deadlines.
The ability to think and work strategically and commercially.
Qualification or significant experience relating to Construction, Design & Management.
NEBOSH, IOSH, CITB SMSTS is desirable.
Full UK Driving Licence and the flexibility to travel as required.
