As a Mechanical Electrical Engineer, you’ll join our Severn Team and start your journey gaining site experience and completing your core training, progressing with further classroom based and on-site training which means short periods away from home. Once you have the necessary safety authorisations in place which will roughly take 18 months you’ll then progress to become an SAP (Senior Authorised Person). Your salary will increase to £54,859 pa, due to the nature of the work you’ll be required for emergency call outs on a standby rota roughly 3 - 5 times a month. For this you’ll receive a standby payment plus call out fee and overtime, first hour during the week £118 and weekend £175.
You’ll lead on various projects within high voltage electricity substations, supervising teams of fitters and ensuring safe systems of work are followed. Sharing your knowledge and expertise you’ll ensure completion of maintenance, refurbishment or replacement works on a variety of plant and equipment including circuit breakers, transformers and protection systems. Your development and training will continue, you will be surrounded by a fantastic team of experienced and professional Engineers that will support your development and progression every step of the way.
