At Dunelm we understand the importance of investing in our Store Technology. We are upgrading tills to the latest tech, deploying Self-Checkout and Customer Wi-Fi. We’re now expanding the team to support our next investment in Handheld Terminals and a Mobile Device Management platform, to support RFID in our Stores.
What you'll be doing
As part of the ‘Retail Technology’ team you’ll play a key role in shaping technology in Dunelm Stores including:
- Handheld Terminals (HHTs) & Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- Service Tills and Self-Checkout Tills (SCO)
- Payment Terminals
- VoCoVo In store communications
- Windows PCs
- Printing
Our Store Tech Team are responsible for the lifecycle of these technologies:
Planning & Selection:
- Working with Product to understand business needs define technical requirements.
- Evaluate in our stores and select technologies.
Deployment:
- In store testing
- Work with partners to rollout to our stores.
Operations & Maintenance:
- Apply updates, patches, and routine maintenance.
- Work with partners to provide in store support.
- Problem management
- Creating documentation for support teams / partners
Optimise & Upgrade:
- Identify opportunities for improvement.
- Plan and execute upgrades to enhance user experience.
As part of this role, you'll travel to stores to support the rollout of new technologies and system upgrades. To ensure minimal disruption to our colleagues and customers, occasionally this work will take place out of hours.
All travel and out of hours work, will be planned in advance.
You’ll work with our trusted partners who will provide resource for store wide rollouts and on-call / incident support.
What we'll look for in you
We’re looking for someone with strong technical expertise in onsite technologies in retail or other sectors.
