TEAM/ROLE: Application Support Specialist

TEAM OVERVIEW: The FICC team operates in a dynamic trading environment with diverse financial products. We seek passionate candidates with strong communication skills, coding experience, and a commitment to resolving technical issues efficiently. Responsibilities include managing incidents, identifying recurring issues, training users, and creating clear documentation.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As an L3 Application Specialist, you will support front office operations for Interest Rates applications by troubleshooting data, infrastructure, or code issues. Key tasks include:
- Analyzing and resolving application issues
- Debugging code and identifying root causes
- Communicating with users, developers, and stakeholders
- Improving application stability and performance
- Automating processes using Engineering tools
- Participating in change management
- Creating runbooks and user documentation
- Managing support tickets
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree and five years of software development experience
MUST HAVE SKILLS AND LICENSES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB: - Practical use of Data Structures
- Problem-solving in development or production environments
- Proficiency in Java or Python, Shell script, Linux, SQL, Sybase ASE/IQ
- Ability to read and debug code
- Experience in software release and change management
- Strong communication skills
OPTIONAL SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE) - Financial services industry experience
- Knowledge of Fixed Income products
- Degree in Computer Science
