POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include designing and developing instrumentation, sensors, and equipment for seismic exploration applications and related products.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Helps to conceive and execute creative solutions for electromechanical design development efforts.
- Participates in research programs for the development of new products and interprets test results.
- Develops and commissions prototypes, specialized test apparatus, and data acquisition equipment as required to support research investigations.
- Creates and reviews specifications, schematics, and bills of materials necessary to fully document new products for full-scale production.
- Supports qualification testing and transition of newly developed products into production.
- Works cooperatively and harmoniously with internal/external customers and fellow project team members, both cross-functionally and globally.
- Assist with project planning and project updates.
- Participate in and conduct design reviews.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
SKILLS NECESSARY TO PERFORM POSITION DUTIES:
- Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Competency in Matlab.
- Experience in signal processing and data analysis. Processing of seismic data is a plus.
- Knowledge of vibration measurements and analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of machining and fabrication techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
TYPICAL EDUCATION: BS, MS in Electrical Engineering
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 0-3 years
