Apply technical knowledge of the TPS (Tuned Pulse Source) and supporting auxiliary equipment. Maintain, repair, trouble shoot, integrate and configure seismic source equipment. These functions are to be performed at Sercel facilities or at customer sites and locations. Frequent field trips and extended periods of travel are required. Lead, train, and assist TPS service technician staff and contractors. Provide insight and design concepts to Product Development on TPS related equipment.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Works with engineering team to provide feedback on source performance and encountered issues in the field.
- Document technical summary of field activities including performed maintenance, downtime origins, and lessons learned.
- Perform calibration checks and tests on equipment and/or systems
- Resolve product operation problems both in-house and during production.
- Prepare reports relating to testing of equipment and systems.
- Coordinate bi-directional information transfer and feedback between customers, engineering, and manufacturing departments.
- Improve documentation to support all aspects of the TPS operation.
- Represent the company and its business goals to customers.
- Perform other related duties as necessary
- Execute other responsibilities as directed by management
SKILLS NECESSARY TO PERFORM POSITION DUTIES:
- Hands-on field installation, startup, troubleshooting, commissioning, service and support of TPS equipment for permanent or trial projects.
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time (up to 50%)
- Strong problem solving abilities in electrical and electronic equipment and application
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
- Essential product knowledge and application is a plus (i.e. field experience)
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with customers and employees
- Proficient in the operation, application and use of computer systems
- Required to work independently in a self-supervisory capacity and be self-motivated
- Technical skills in startup, commissioning, troubleshooting,
- Strong Computer skills to include MS Outlook, Excel and Word
- Strong technical background
- Ability to build strong customer relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Customer service oriented
- Provide prompt follow-up reports on work performed, problems encountered, and customer concerns.

TYPICAL EDUCATION: Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering with related experience in operation, repair and maintenance of electronic systems (or similar)
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of Seismic source operations a plus
Knowledge of Sercel products a plus
Work Authorizations/Security Clearance:
Employee must be eligible to receive deemed exports as defined by U.S. Export Administration (“EAR”) or EAR-controlled technology.
