Job Description
About Finance Reinvention Partner
Accenture's Finance Reinvention Partner helps CFOs and finance leaders reinvent how finance creates and protects enterprise value - bringing together strategy, operating model, data, AI and technology to improve performance, insight, control and execution. In the UK and Ireland, the practice combines finance strategy and transformation capabilities with the enterprise platforms that enable them, including SAP, Oracle, Workday and enterprise performance management solutions.
Our Planning, Performance & Insights team helps clients transform how they plan, forecast, allocate resources, manage performance and make decisions. We connect strategic, financial and operational planning with data, analytics and modern planning technologies to create more integrated, agile and insight-led performance management capabilities. We support the full transformation journey - from planning strategy, process and operating model design through solution architecture, implementation, adoption and value realisation - embedding predictive analytics, machine learning and AI to improve forecast quality, scenario modelling and management insight. Our work is particularly relevant to capital-intensive Products and Resources organisations, where financial plans must connect effectively with demand, production, assets, projects, workforce and capital investment.
Why this role
This is a senior advisory and delivery role for an experienced enterprise planning leader who can work directly with CFOs, FP&A leaders and business executives to reinvent how organisations plan, forecast, allocate resources and manage performance.
You will shape the transformation ambition, make the major design choices across process, operating model, data, technology and AI, and lead complex programmes from strategy through implementation, adoption and value realisation. You will also grow trusted client relationships and help develop Accenture's Planning, Performance & Insights offering, assets and people.
The expertise you'll bring
Enterprise planning and performance transformation. Deep experience across strategic and long-range planning, target setting, annual planning, rolling forecasting, scenario modelling, management reporting and performance review with a strong understanding of modern planning platforms (10+ years of experience)
Planning process and operating-model design. The ability to define the future planning capability across process, governance, roles, decision rights, planning calendars, business partnering, model ownership, data stewardship and performance routines - and to align corporate, business-unit, finance and operational stakeholders around one coherent design.
Capital-intensive industry and value-driver insight. Strong experience in Products and/or Resources or similar industries, with the judgement to connect financial outcomes to operational and capital drivers such as demand, price, volume, production, capacity, asset utilisation, maintenance, projects, workforce, capital expenditure, working capital and cash.
Modern planning solution strategy. Deep expertise in at least one leading planning platform - such as SAP Analytics Cloud, Anaplan, Pigment, CCH Tagetik, Oracle EPM or OneStream - together with the ability to assess options objectively, shape the functional solution architecture and guide integration with ERP, operational and data platforms.
Data, analytics and AI-enabled planning. A practical understanding of planning data models, master data, driver-based forecasting, forecast accuracy and bias, predictive forecasting, anomaly detection, scenario generation and automated performance insight. You can identify where machine learning and AI add value and define the transparency, validation, controls and human oversight required for responsible use.
End-to-end delivery and value realisation. Experience leading the full transformation lifecycle, including diagnostic, case for change, roadmap, process and solution design, platform selection, build, integration, testing, business readiness, adoption, stabilisation and benefit tracking.
Executive, team and commercial leadership. Immediate credibility with senior finance and business leaders; the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and complex engagements; and a track record of shaping opportunities, leading proposals, managing engagement economics and contributing to account and practice growth.
What you'll be accountable for
• Lead the current-state planning diagnostic, establishing an evidence-based view of planning cycles, decision needs, organisational roles, models, data, technology, controls, pain points and performance gaps.
• Define the future planning ambition, priority business outcomes and design principles, aligning executive stakeholders on the case for change and measures of success.
• Design the target planning capability across strategic, financial and operational planning, including process, governance, roles, decision rights, planning calendars, performance frameworks and management routines.
• Shape the functional solution and data architecture, guide platform assessment or selection, and remain the design authority across models, drivers, dimensions, workflow, security, reporting, integration and controls.
• Define the role of predictive analytics, machine learning and AI in forecasting, scenario modelling, variance analysis and management insight, with appropriate model ownership, validation, explainability and human oversight.
• Develop the transformation roadmap, business case, investment profile and value-realisation approach, sequencing dependencies across process, data, technology, organisation, capability and change.
• Lead implementation through build, testing, business readiness, deployment, adoption and stabilisation, protecting design coherence and ensuring the new capability is embedded in business decision-making.
• Own senior client relationships, engagement quality, commercials, risk and outcomes; lead and develop the team; originate and shape new work; and build reusable Planning, Performance & Insights propositions, assets and points of view.
