At EY, our Financial Services Private Capital Tax team works with some of the world's leading asset managers, investment funds and private capital businesses across private equity, private credit, hedge funds and real estate. We help clients navigate complex UK and international tax matters, support strategic transactions and deliver practical solutions that enable growth.

What you'll be doing As a Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional client service while helping shape the development of both clients and colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the successful delivery of complex tax advisory projects for asset managers, investment funds and private capital businesses.
- Advising clients on a broad range of tax matters, including fund tax, international tax, UK corporation tax, income tax, capital gains tax and issues specific to the Wealth and Asset Management sector.
- Supporting clients through fund formation, acquisitions and disposals, restructurings, management company matters and other strategic transactions.
- Building deep, long-term relationships with a portfolio of clients and acting as a trusted adviser.
- Working closely with colleagues across EY's UK and international network to deliver integrated and commercially focused solutions.
- Identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and supporting business development initiatives to drive growth.
- Engaging with HMRC and external stakeholders including financial institutions, legal advisers and wealth management businesses.
- Contributing to the operational management of the team and helping shape strategy and resource planning.
- Coaching, mentoring and developing junior team members while fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
What we're looking for We're interested in individuals who combine strong technical capability with leadership potential, commercial awareness and a passion for delivering outstanding client service.
You'll likely bring:
- Knowledge of alternative asset management and private capital sectors, including private equity, hedge funds, private credit and related investment structures.
- Experience across a range of fund tax matters.
- Strong UK tax technical knowledge, ideally including exposure to international tax matters.
- A proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and commercially.
- Experience supervising, coaching and developing junior professionals, with a collaborative leadership style.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- ACA, CTA, Law qualification, HMRC Tax Inspector (with full technical training) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience gained within a professional services, accounting or legal environment.
- A proactive mindset and strong professional judgement.
