Strategic Partnership Development Manager, Payments

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience managing negotiations with Financial Institutions/Fintechs/Payment Providers around enablement of payment services.
  • Experience in providing recommendations and strategy within EMEA region for payment acceptance or e-commerce.
  • Experience managing partnerships including performance management and executive level escalations.
  • Experience with technical/operational/regulatory requirements in the payment acceptance flows.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with complex business and technical requirements to evaluate new opportunities and assess impacts to cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working for an e-commerce provider or e-commerce merchant, managing providers that enable identity verification services, fraud services, and payment processing.
  • Experience with operating rules, regulations and key contracting terms related to payment acceptance processes and supporting services.
  • Ability to comfortably work in a fast-paced, evolving, team environment.
  • Ability to influence product strategy and enhance product development through partnerships.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence and communicate internally and externally as an advocate for Google.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

As a Payments Partnership team, we build partnerships to enable reliable, cost efficient, and secure commerce experience across all Google products.

As Strategic Development Partner Manager, you will work with Product and other cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Engineering) to assess, develop, onboard, and manage third-party solutions that enable critical capabilities on our platform to accept payments and payouts. This includes but is not limited in solutions around payment processing, disbursement providers, identity solutions, etc.

In this role, you will represent Google at industry forums and groups to bring best practices and market insights to our product team.


The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and agreements for partner selection.
  • Manage partners providing payment processing and ancillary payment services. Be the point of contact for resolving complex partner escalations across different categories (e.g., financial, operational, technical, regulatory, etc.).
  • Drive partner improvements based on scorecards, metrics, and assessments.
  • Define and drive partner strategy to support industry trends and Googles’ product roadmap.
  • Work with cross-functional areas across Google to derive a holistic view of the partnership strategy.
