About the Role

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People Partner to join our team in Strategic Infrastructure (SI) on a full time, permanent basis!

 

Working collaboratively with the business and People team,  and reporting into the SI Senior People Partner, you’ll partner with three Directors across SI, supporting them and their teams on all elements of the people agenda including talent management, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion , leadership development and query management. You’ll interpret and apply wider HR policy to meet business requirements and will support with targeted interventions relating to recruitment, retention and reward, among other activities!


The focus of this role will be to support our construction delivery and commercial leadership teams across SI who are based across Warwickshire, Lincolnshire and East Anglia.

 

What You'll Do

 

• Deliver dedicated and tailored HR advice acting as the lead point of contact on all employee related issues, involving the interpretation and application of wider HR policy to suit specific business requirements.
• Lead HR activities including talent management, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, leadership development and query management. 
• Support with developing tailored people strategies and implementing targeted interventions relating to recruitment, retention, and reward, among other activities.
• Provide risk-based advice for all levels of management within the business area for all matters related to the management of employees, act as a trusted advisor to build a reputation as a credible, professional, and flexible HR professional.
• Prioritise HR strategies to ensure that there is alignment between HR & business strategy and to work in partnership with the leadership team of the assigned business areas to ensure delivery of the plan, including tracking of progress.
• Lead on key projects and activities (e.g., DEI, Talent Management and Performance Management)
• Shape, implement and maintain career frameworks for critical capabilities across your client groups.
• Support the delivery of key HR processes / cyclical activities (such as performance management and pay review) by working with HR COEs and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and compliance in the assigned business area. 
• Proactively seeking opportunities to build their knowledge of their customer’s business and requirements to provide tailored ‘fit for purpose’ advice.
• Work with business to translate HR strategy into clear objectives that are aligned to the future needs and future goals of the business area to provide accurate and timely support that enables them to achieve their goals.
• Analyse data and key themes to see what improvements and recommendations can be made. 
• Support the Senior HR Business Partner to deliver on key strategic priorities across Strategic Infrastructure 
• Work with a range of specialist colleagues within the team and with senior colleagues to develop knowledge of HR practices and procedures and provide effective advice to the business within HR.

What You'll Have

 

•Demonstrable experience providing key stakeholder relationship management, risk-based advice, tailored to the needs of the business working within the context of a complex, matrix organisation. 
•Knowledge and experience across the full spectrum of HR activities to provide a rounded service to the business area. 
•Influencing and communication skills to build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation and with a broad range of stakeholders. 
•Experience of partnering with Senior Managers to drive the full scope of the talent agenda - including succession planning and drive the subsequent development actions. 
•A motivated self-starter with the ability to adapt to different business needs and having the mindset of continuous improvement. 
•Ability to analyse data and provide insights to support strategic direction of SI.  
•Analyse complex situations and make well-considered decisions quickly and confidently, demonstrating commercial drive and acumen. 
•Experience of managing projects from initiation to implementation and review. 
•Discipline and attention to detail in managing data, policies, and processes. 
•Experienced in Business/HR or Learning and Development Areas 
•CIPD Level 7 qualified or working towards obtaining.

Further Information

 

• This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis
• We are also offering hybrid working in which we envisage you will spend on average 2 days a week at a National Grid office, connecting with your customers and teams -  with the remainder from home.
• There will be some travel required in this role. The customer groups you will partner with are based across Warwickshire, Lincolnshire and East Anglia. The SI People Team are based at our HQ in Warwick
