Senior UX Designers at Tesco take end-to-end ownership of complex customer experiences - shaping direction as well as delivering it. You ensure the UX within your product area is rigorous, evidence-driven, and consistently high quality, while driving outcomes that connect to customer and business goals. You'll be embedded in a squad working across Loyalty (including Clubcard) and Customer Support, partnering with Product Managers, Engineers, UI Designers, and Researchers. You'll also collaborate with Lead Designers on architectural principles, and with designers across connected surfaces including Shopping, Financial Services, and Marketplace
- Owning end-to-end UX for complex journeys and Clubcard propositions, designing for core flows, edge cases, error states, accessibility, and operational constraints.
- Leading discovery: journey mapping, concept development, prototyping, and testing.
- Using insight to shape direction, not just validate it.
- Using qualitative and quantitative data, including experimentation, to challenge assumptions, improve live experiences, and contribute to squad OKRs. Partnering with Proposition, Product, and Engineering to ensure design decisions are practical and aligned with strategy.
- Communicating rationale clearly across teams.
- Collaborating with the Design System team to keep experiences consistent and product needs reflected in shared patterns.
- Sharing work early, seeking feedback, and giving constructive critique that raises the quality of the whole team - not just your own work. Mentoring Junior and Mid UX Designers
- Portfolio demonstrating sharp UX thinking, clear rationale, and high-quality interaction design across complex digital products.
- Deep UX principles applied confidently to multi-journey, interconnected product problems.
- Experience designing at scale, ideally where journeys span multiple touch points or propositions.
- High standards for usability, accessibility, and interaction quality.
- Comfort with qualitative and quantitative insight and experimentation.
- Proactive and open: you share early, seek feedback, and give critique that lifts the people around you.
- Clear communicator who can explain design rationale and influence cross-functional partners.
