To work as part of the Grounds and Gardens team. Developing the estate’s grounds, gardens & play areas. Delivering high standards throughout the grounds and gardens. to enhance the reputation of the hotel, providing an excellent guest experience.

What you will be doing as a Grounds and Gardens Assistant:
Being a brand ambassador by being a warm and friendly Partner who provides a consistently outstanding customer experience that is unrivalled in the marketplace.
Compliance with legislative and health & safety requirements for the grounds and gardens department, for example use of mechanical equipment and hand tools
Basic Maintenance of servicing and records of machinery and equipment where required.
Knowledge and understanding of the way in which we care for, manage and develop identified garden areas, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, seed sowing, bed preparation and planting.

Portering
Supporting the implementation of changes to ensure continuous innovations and improvements are made within the department.
Follow work schedules for the department to effectively deliver seasonal work plans to deliver maintenance and project priorities
Ensure compliance with statutory training requirements and compliance with relevant industry codes of practice and Health and Safety requirements
Demonstrate flexibility to support across other areas of the hotel operation when required
Communicate with visitors to the Gardens, answering relevant questions
Support Estate events as required, which may involve occasional extra hours at weekends and evenings
Adopt an environmentally sustainable approach to all grounds and gardens activities across the estate.
An awareness of the estate reporting any dangers or damage, such as boundary fencing or tree branches to your line manager
Assisting with sowing, propagation and cultivation of plants, shrubs and trees
Maintain pathways, including the clearance of snow and ice.
Act in accordance with the Partnership’s purpose and democratic principles, constructively participating in co-ownership, and demonstrating to customers and each other that it is a better way of doing business. Share your knowledge, experiences, ideas and opinion to improve the Partnership, speaking honestly and frequently.
