Product Manager - Data Marketplace
We are seeking a highly experienced Product Manager to lead the development and management of our Data Marketplace. With cross-departmental and global engagement, you will oversee the full product lifecycle from defining the vision and product roadmap to contract management and budgeting. Drawing on your experience, you will guide teams and question existing practices to foster a culture that embraces accountability, high performance, continuous improvement, experimentation, and innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to own from day one, centralising our data usage and delivery a company wide service.
Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to: Strategy and Planning - Create a holistic product roadmap that balances consistency with the specific requirements of our customers.
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, including conceptualization, technical design, development, testing, and launch of new features and enhancements.
- Conduct thorough technical market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, data integration best practices, and opportunities for innovation in the Group Data Hub space.
- Continuously gather and analyse user feedback and performance metrics to improve the Group Data Hub, addressing scalability, data processing speed, and data integration challenges.
- Act as a technical product evangelist, promoting the value proposition and capabilities of the Data Marketplace to executives and other stakeholders.
Technical performance - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scrum masters and vendors
- Deliver on the product roadmap:
- Shape the backlog - define and prioritise streams/user stories and epics
- Review and sign-off delivered features - defining, communicating, and evaluating deliverables against agreed acceptance criteria
- Regularly inspect and evaluate progress, proactively addressing and removing obstacles to ensure forward momentum
- Empower agile teams through coaching and support, enhancing their understanding of the product backlog content
Policy, Process, and Procedures - Participate in internal and external governance forums, providing regular, accurate insight, and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Apply risk assessment and management principles to assess compliance and operational risks associated with the role and mitigate potential issues.
People Management - Lead cross-functional team members by inspiring with a compelling vision, instilling a context-driven decision-making process, and fostering an Agile culture that emphasises adaptability and responsiveness.
You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience: - Clear product management experience within a regulated data environment, previous insurance experience is not required
- Proven experience in managing complex data products initiatives, working with and/or running cross functional teams to deliver work
- Good agile product delivery experience - using various methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) with experience of Product Management/Ownership
- Proficiency in product visioning and strategic roadmap development, with a keen ability to balance short-term actions with long-term vision.
- Clear understanding of data governance, data management, and data integration concepts, with experience in implementing data integration solutions using ETL tools, data pipelines, and cloud-based data lakes and warehouses.
- Great communication and stakeholder management skills, proficient in conveying complex messages effectively and facilitating communication across cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
