About the Role
Do you have an interest in UK and European energy markets? If so, this could be the role for you!
The Market Analytics team delivers in-depth energy market insights, uses software to simulate UK and European energy markets, creates scenarios of potential future ways to meet net zero, and maintains and develops extensive market information dashboards/databases. The team supports others across all National Grid businesses giving you a chance to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
With a starting salary of over £28,000, when you join our 24- month Higher Apprenticeship Programme, you’ll have an excellent opportunity to advance your career gaining development and experience in a variety of activities including:
- Developing and enhancing energy market dashboards
- Transforming and auditing data to provide the team with robust data sources
- Investigating ways of improving data handling methods, ensuring documentation and controls are adequate around all processes and projects and sharing best practice
- Developing new platforms to deliver market analytics
- Running market models to answer business questions and provide analysis and presentations to stakeholders on the results
- Performing analysis on market trends
- Developing a strategic mindset
About You
You’re a problem-solver, with the ability to apply critical, creative and evidence-based thinking to develop innovative strategies to meet business needs and deliver long term value.
Being self-aware and reflective, you are able to engage in a professional manner with a variety of stakeholders. Having the drive, flexibility and resilience, you always act with integrity and taking responsibility for your actions.
You’ll have GCSE English and Maths graded at level 5 or above, and two A-Levels (or equivalents) graded C or above.
You’ll also have demonstrable numerical and analytical skills, a basic knowledge of office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and an interest in computer coding such as Python could be advantageous
