Salary: Circa £35,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience

The opportunity:MBDA are recruiting for a Finance Officer to play a central role in the Cost Control team. You will be part of a team applying rigorous financial control to the UK Cost Base of MBDA. This involves performing month end responsibilities, providing support on the annual budget and longer-term business planning cycles and maintaining and improving business processes.
This role is ideal for someone with experience of working to tight deadlines in a large multi-national corporate environment.
The main responsibilities are:- Performing MBDA UK month-end cost base closing routines in SAP: reconciling accounts, calculating and processing accruals / prepayments.
- Providing cost control and support to our business partners in the company functions / departments.
- Controlling budgets for centrally funded activities.
- Preparation of monthly Cost Base reporting packs including summarising quantitative and qualitative data concerning headcount, payroll, non payroll and capital projects.
- Supporting the business planning processes for budgets and long term plans. Which include consolidation/verification of financial data, loading information into SAP and preparation of reports for senior managers.
- Supporting business improvement initiatives, being involved in defining business process and testing new financial systems.
- Maintenance/administration of SAP system.
What we're looking for- Experience of financial period closes
- Intermediate level Excel user, comfortable with manipulating data
- Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction
- Comfortable challenging how things are done and striving for process improvement
- Ability to build strong and productive working relationships whilst maintaining independence and integrity.
- Experience in using and understanding Enterprise Finance systems. SAP, BPC, SAC etc would be highly beneficial
