Job Purpose
Perform compliance and quality assurance and pipeline safety management assessments of company and contractor personnel to ensure construction, maintenance, and gas operations activities are performed in accordance with all applicable Federal and State code requirements, work methods, policies and procedures. Ensure field personnel are operator qualified (OQ) and able to demonstrate the necessary job knowledge and competencies of the work task being performed. Key Accountabilities
- Through field observations and assessments; collect, organize, and examine data in order to support the safe and reliable delivery of gas service to customers
- Identify deficiencies and overall pipeline safety performance trends or patterns which may adversely impact the quality and safety of operations
- Provide recommendations and assist in implementation of corrective actions in order to improve the quality and safety of gas operations performance
- Provide “on-the-job-training” and mentoring of crew personnel as needed to maintain compliance obligations and/or meet quality standards for work being performed
- Participate on Incident Analysis teams (IA’s) to determine root cause and identify sustainable corrective actions
- Provide routine performance updates at Safety Briefs to help field operations personnel increase focus on areas of pipeline safety management
- Encourage adoption of National Grid’s Pipeline Safety Management System and create a focus on compliance
Qualifications
- 5-6 years of work experience in utilities or similar regulated industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, as are excellent observation and documentation abilities and a high degree of personal integrity
- Self-motivated, confident, efficient, decisive and committed to a strong and consistent quality assurance program
- Good interpersonal skills that support working constructively with others
Salary
$93,000 - $109,000 a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
