Job Purpose
To supervise the operation of the distribution system, and monitor, operate and maintain control of the transmission, distribution and station facilities.
Key Accountabilities
· Provide supervision/leadership of daily rotating shift operations of the New England Distribution Control Center (NEDCC).
· Take the leadership role and be responsible for shift/team incident management.
· Maintain awareness of system conditions (via Energy Management System EMS and other sources) and arrange / rearrange the configuration of the subtransmission and distribution system so that equipment is kept within prescribed operating limits at all times.
· Promotes safety, provides reliable electric service, and directs emergency restoration of sub-transmission, station and distribution systems.
· Be familiar with, and implement various ISO-NE/REMVEC operating procedures as may be necessary.
· Make necessary and appropriate notifications regarding system conditions and emergencies to Company personnel and regulatory agencies.
· Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and regional regulations.
· Ensure Control Center records and documentation are updated in a timely manner.
· Perform employee evaluations as required.
· NEDCC personnel work reasonable amounts of overtime as needed.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
Qualifications
· Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Control Center Operator/Control Authority.
· Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in electric utility operations.
· Knowledge of power substation and distribution construction and associated relay and control systems.
· Must have the ability to assimilate data from a variety of sources, and quickly formulate and execute action plans based on that data during periods of high stress.
· Must have excellent listening, oral and written skills and communicate in a clear and concise manner with our customers and all levels of management.
· Must have an operating knowledge of personal computers with an aptitude to learn and excel in use of our Energy Management System (EMS) and other systems used by the Control Center.
· Have a thorough understanding of National Grid Clearance & Control rules.
· Have a thorough understanding of ISO-NE and NE TCC Operating Procedures.
Salary
$129k - $152k a year
