SCHEDULE: 40 Hours (May be required to work special schedules)
Key Accountabilities
- Assists the Storekeeper with the work of the storerooms and also serves various other departments of the system and under the direction of the Storekeeper and/or Storeroom Foreperson performs the following physical and clerical work:
- Ordering, expediting, receiving, handling, storing and issuing operating and maintenance supplies, parts, tools, equipment and the recording of activity associated with this work. Handle, label and store hazardous material.
- Load and unload materials and check materials received, verifying quantity, quality and identification. Pack and ship material. Process the return of material/equipment for repair and/or credit.
- Requisition miscellaneous stock items and generate miscellaneous requisitions for procuring material essential to support plant operations.
- Records issues and receipts of materials and tools, corrections and adjustments, and keep records. Conduct inventory activities; reconcile balances on all inventories taken at various storerooms, and record results.
- Be familiar with plant tools and their use and be responsible for some small tool repair, reconditioning, inspection and set up, including inspection and care of slings and hoists. Perform miscellaneous mechanical work associated with the storeroom as required.
- Operate fork lifts and use company vehicles to assist in pick-ups and deliveries.
- Keep the storerooms and storage areas in a neat and orderly condition.
- Perform similar or less skilled work as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Completion of high school or equivalent.
· Must have three or more years experience.
· Plan and perform a sequence of standard operations within limits of specific standard procedures and methods.
· Compliance with standard safety precautions necessary.
· Responsible for observance of safety rules by not more than four helpers. May be responsible for one or two helpers or assistants and may instruct same.
- Must have valid NYS Driver's license.
· Will be required to drive commercial vehicles and maintain a Commercial Driver's License.
Pay Rate: $ 40.28 an hour
