An online publishing and website Editor needed for one of the largest professional female award winning websites in the UK and India. Established in 2008. Growing at a fast pace with further domains being deployed globally. With an average of 20 million hits a month, 500,000 unique visitors across two main websites – WeAreTheCity.com and WeAreTechWomen.com.

Job Purpose:
Maintains Website content and for multiple websites and be responsive to market trends and changes. Work closely on projects and ideas to ‘go to market’ on time.
Working within a small content team, this role is very varied with a number of routine housekeeping activities daily and content uploading from various sources. On a weekly basis the Editor and team have the ability to write and explore new content and design online marketing banners and videos.
On a regular basis WeAreTheCity manage and run events. Occasionally these require all staff members to assist in event duties, including photography, interviews, reception and networking. The majority of events are held in the evening and overtime and expenses will be provided.
Job Duties:
Frequent
- Upload and proofing of written content onto websites from sources
- Manage and administer the newsletter campaigns (Mailchimp)
- Ensuring the house style is upheld
- During awards periods, being able to publish multiple nominated profiles on the website
- Bring freshness and energy into the websites and content
- Managing the future publishing of content and associated channels
- Re-sizing of images and inclusion on websites
- Assist in the production of new sections and pages to help promote new projects and events
- Refresh of old content and sections within the platforms
- Provide online chat and responses to various web enquiries related to editorial
- Modify and adapt search engine optimisation settings
- Work with developers, marketing manager and other members of staff to ensure the right content is being published and to an agreed timetable
- Provide and deliver online research to capture popular news, current affairs and in-depth knowledge on website related subject matter
- Send out bulletins to various subscribers of websites
- Work with the team on promotions whether social media or direct
- Come up with ideas to improve the usability and performance
Occasional
- Attend and assist on awards and events
- Audio and video editing for publishing on Websites and social media
- Facilitate and manage online webinars
Skills/Qualifications:
- Essential
- Wordpress experience (both Editing and publishing)
- Mailchimp experience
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge and experience working with Apple Mac operating systems (not technical)
- Good knowledge of Social Media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin)
- Good telephone manner and communication skills
- High level of written English and grammar
- Proof reading and eye for detail
