The Tesco Till solution is now on over 40,000 UK tills with new features being added all the time. The next challenge, which is to scale up to reach all self-service and attended tills throughout the Tesco estate, will require, planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
Although we've deployed to many tills already, there is still a need for significant software development for improvements for other till types, store formats and countries and to cope with the scale of the rollout.
This is an opportunity for a Technical Programme Manager to be involved in the heart of a key strategic programme. You will be working closely with Business and Technology teams to shape development and rollout plans. You must be comfortable with ambiguity and skilled at shaping programmes from early inception through to delivery.
Technical Programme Managers (TPMs) deliver cross-functional technology programmes that support colleagues and help serve our customers better. They work collaboratively, influence Product, Engineering and business colleagues and lead the programme to deliver value quickly and often.
Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the overall objective will be the ongoing development of the Tesco Till solution to enable the continuing rollout across the UK and ROI. Your role will be split across building new features and rolling out Tesco Till to more stores and tills. The following provides an overview of the role's key responsibilities and measures:
• Deliver high priority & value business outcomes as part of the Tesco Till programme
• Engage Business and Technology teams across Tesco
• Co-ordinate input to/from Programme, Technology and Business teams (for example Store Operations)
• Understand & manage dependencies between programmes (Hardware, Finance, Data, Stock)
• Build positive relationships with suppliers & external stakeholders to deliver software or professional services
• Define and track performance against customer and business KPIs
• Remove impediment and ensures that the right product is delivered
• Contribute actively to TPM community
As an experience Technical Programme Manager you will have a proven record of accomplishment in delivering technology; having done so across multiple teams in multiple geographies.
You will have experience of building credible relationships and influencing senior management & leadership teams demonstrating strong Project, Stakeholder & Programme management skills
You will be well versed in building relationships with stakeholders , vendor management and negotiation.
You are data driven with strong reporting skills for programmes and financial forecasting
You have excellent communication & influencing skills and able to adapt to changes
