We have a fantastic opportunity to join Tesco Technology's Finance Data & AI team who are responsible for building the data foundation that powers financial decision‑making across Tesco. We are transforming how finance accesses, trusts and uses data by developing a modern finance data platform that delivers trusted data at pace and enables analytics and AI. We partner with engineering teams to integrate data from finance systems, ensure quality and governance, and make data discoverable and accessible to finance colleagues, analytics products and AI‑driven capabilities across the business.
Joining us means playing a part in defining; building and launching an ambitious roadmap of digital products that could affect the lives of millions of people over the years to come. If that sounds exciting then we'd love to hear from you!
• Define and own the vision, strategy and roadmap for the Finance Data Platform, aligning strategic priorities, dependencies and outcomes across the finance data product portfolio.
• Lead and develop a team of Product Managers and Associate Product Managers, ensuring clear goals, coaching and effective performance management.
• Drive onboarding of key finance data sources (GL, sub‑ledgers, Tagetik, CTS and others) into the Finance Data Hub, balancing time‑to‑value with data quality, control and compliance for analytical and AI use cases.
• Partner with data engineering, architecture and finance operations teams to ensure the platform is scalable, resilient and secure, and that data products meet the needs of finance stakeholders, analytics users and data scientists.
• Champion data quality by supporting standards, validation rules and monitoring that build trust in finance data and support reliable AI/ML outcomes.
• Lead discovery for new finance data and platform capabilities, including opportunities to use AI and automation to improve finance workflows, collaborating with finance users and engineering to define and validate minimum viable products.
• Help the team break down complex epics into smaller, deliverable chunks of value that can be delivered and measured quickly.
• Provide direction and leadership to cross‑functional teams on near‑term priorities, communicating trade‑offs and decisions clearly to stakeholders.
• Significant product management experience, including leading complex data or platform products with multiple internal stakeholders, ideally in finance or related domains.
• Delivering self‑serve data and analytics capabilities that enable colleagues to make better, data‑driven decisions.
• Good understanding of modern data platforms, data management and data architectures, including cloud‑based technologies that support analytics and AI/ML.
• Exposure to AI‑enabled products or workflows (for example forecasting, anomaly detection, assistants or automation) and the associated data quality and access requirements.
• Technical competence to engage in solution discussions with engineering, understand constraints and support accurate sizing of work.
• Experience in leading and developing Product Managers, including setting objectives, providing feedback and supporting career development.
• Strong skills in prioritisation, dependency management and using data to inform product decisions and trade‑offs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences, including finance leadership and technology stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Agile ways of working, including writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria and working in iterative delivery cycles.
