An opportunity has arisen within the Group Internal Audit team providing assurance to the MBDA Board covering all of the company's activities.
We are looking for either a business OR finance auditor.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the MBDA Audit team and gain valuable exposure to the wider functions with a medium term view (3 years minimum) of moving back into the business.
The Opportunity
- The Group Internal Audit team provides assurance to the MBDA Board by undertaking risk based internal audits across all of MBDA's activities. This is a unique role that has breadth across all parts of the international organisation, subsidiaries and joint ventures, providing you with the opportunity to:
- Develop a working understanding of internal controls, risk management and assurance activities in the international business environment.
- Gain valuable exposure to senior management, and develop your network.
- Influence improvement in the organisation through impactful insights and recommendations.
What's in it for you?
You will be required to:
- Research, evaluate and prepare a Terms of Reference document and Audit Planning Documents for each allocated audit assignment.
- Lead when tasked, small international audit teams.
- Undertake fieldwork (business or finance based audits), identify best practice internally and externally to make value-add recommendation to address internal control weaknesses.
- Analyse audit findings and develop recommendations that are relevant for the business to improve controls to manage risk.
- Prepare clear, concise reports and agree with senior management.
- Undertake functional improvement activities as per the Internal Audit roadmap.
What we're looking for
Either a Finance Auditor: We are looking for a part or fully qualified accountant with experience in the industry sector or an experienced external auditor / A broad finance knowledge/background would be beneficial.
Or a Business Auditor: A broad business knowledge/background would be beneficial.
We are looking for someone who has the ability and aptitude to undertake audits of a wide and varied nature.
A self-starter - the successful applicant will be leading audit engagements and change activities
Team working is important within Internal Audit therefore it is necessary that the successful candidate can work effectively as a team member
The ability to communicate clearly, articulate risk and add value are also necessary. Including:
- Strong communication and influencing skills with peers and senior management.
- Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify a solution.
- Cultural sensitivity and diplomacy for the international working environment.
- Ability to remain independent, objective and respect confidentiality.
