Job Overview
The Data Hub team within Viridien are looking for data scientists with a passion for programming, technology and enthusiasm for analytical and problem-solving challenges. Our data scientists play a vital role in the continual development of our digital transformation strategy and geoscience analytics. You will be responsible for developing and implementing technologies and efficient workflows to manipulate the outputs from a machine learning driven classification pipeline. This will include using these outputs to identify, extract, transform and load data to the database.
Data Hub is a dynamic team of scientists and developers within Viridien who love solving complex problems. We provide leading edge technology solutions and services to solve our clients' data transformation and analytic challenges across a range of industries including geothermal, environmental, hydrocarbon and mineral exploration.
The role is office based, located in Indonesia Viridien office, working in a collaborative environment with others on data extraction and loading tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Assessing and refining (where necessary) available technology to transform and load a range of geoscience data created by the data entry specialists into relational databases,
Where necessary reducing manual data handling effort by automating data extraction workflows,
Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to ensure consistency and accuracy of yours and the team’s outputs,
Working to deadlines to ensure projects are delivered on time with a high quality.
Key Skills & Experience
Qualifications
BSc, MSc or PhD in any of the following disciplines, or similar; Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics.
Desired Job Skillsets
Strong python skills,
Experience of data cleaning and transformation techniques,
Practical knowledge of databases and SQL,
Key Competencies
Diligence and high attention to detail,
Strong self-motivation in delivering accurate results within assigned timeframes,
Good communication skills with an ability to openly share ideas and own work,
Interest in the application of computer science and technology in solving complex challenges,
