Job Summary
Geocomp is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager Civil/Structural Instrumentation with a focus on risk management via instrumentation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for client relationship and management of project teams on civil infrastructure projects.
About the Team
At Geocomp, you will join a dynamic and collaborative team of engineers, geologists, project managers, and field technicians dedicated to solving real-world infrastructure challenges. Our Monitoring Division is recognized for its technical excellence, innovative mindset, and deep expertise in structural and geotechnical instrumentation.
We work closely with public and private sector clients on impactful projects across the U.S., including bridges, tunnels, dams, and other critical infrastructure. You will be supported by a culture of knowledge-sharing, continuous improvement, and hands-on learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop technical proposals for the design and implementation of Structural Monitoring Systems.
- Actively manage projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
- Oversee the installation and performance of structural monitoring systems to meet project objectives.
- Apply expertise in structural component testing and/or structural design and analysis to align solutions with client needs.
- Analyse collected data to interpret structural behaviour and provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure high-quality technical outcomes.
Qualifications:
- M.S. degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or B.S. degree with equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of project management experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Dedicated to exceptional client service and continuous process improvement
- Skilled in preparing proposals, bids, and technical reports
- Knowledgeable in risk management principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with clients
- Valid driver’s license required
- Willingness to travel and spend time on project sites during critical phases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus
Physical Demand:
The candidate must have the ability to climb ladders and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. This position may require work performed in confined spaces and at heights in excess of 10 feet. Some of the work may be performed in the field where exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, variations in temperature and humidity, fumes and various types of construction equipment may apply.
